Corrugated Cup 2014 Notice Of Race
This is the Annual Corrugated Cup Race. The objective is for the participants to create a seaworthy manned vessel out of ONLY cardboard and one roll of duct tape
* Date: Sunday, August 31st, 2014
* Registration Fee: 10.00 (Includes one roll of duct tape) * Skippers' Meeting: 12:00 pm; First Race: 12:30 pm

Instructions:
* BOATS MUST BE CONSTRUCTED USING ONLY UNCOATED, UNTREATED CORREGATED CARDBOARD AND THE PROVIDED ROLL OF DUCT TAPE (55 yards)
(Official duct tape is available from the stewards)
NO OTHER CONSTRUCTION MATERIAL MAY BE USED.
* No tubes or chipboard are to be used.
* Boats may be decorated with other materials, as long as the decorations provide
no structure, waterproofing, or buoyancy. No paint within six inches of waterline.
* All participants must help with the construction of their boat, family members only are to work
on the construction of any boat
* All boats must carry at least one passenger (living, breathing, with a pulse) and must be self propelled
(Paddles must also be made of cardboard and duct tape; except for long distance race)
* All boats must fly a burgee.
* Life jackets must be worn (as designed) when on the water
* NO SURFBOARD STYLE ENTRIES WILL BE ALLOWED
* There will be four divisions; Youth (11 & under), Juniors (12 to 16) & Adults (17 and up) and an
open (no age restrictions) long distance race.
For the long distance race, the boat must be constructed as defined above, however, a real paddle may be used.
* All boats will be inspected before and after the races to insure ethical construction practices. * Race will be held in the harbor or surrounding water of IHYC, the exact course will be
defined at the skippers meeting
* No competitor may damage another competitor’s boat (No pirating)
